How it all started...

In 2018, I was stuck in a job that was not challenging me and I felt I was not working to my full potential. I have always had a passion for all things Beauty and so I made the decision to train to become a Beauty Therapist.

The Guild of Beauty Therapists website helped me to locate a wonderful training academy, Hartley Wintney Beauty & Training. The tutor, Carla, had spent many years teaching beauty to college students however opened her own academy from the comfort of her own garden studio. The facility was immaculate, tea and coffee provided, all the right tools on hand and of course the all important toilet... needed due to all the tea and coffee!

Carla's knowledge and way of training was absolutely fantastic. She asked what my preferred style of learning was as she caterers to all students needs and requirements, after all we do not all learn in the same way. I am more of a hands on, I do not particularly enjoy reading through huge manuals and prefer the information drip fed whilst I am performing each treatment. Much the same with music I prefer to listen to the words to learn them rather than reading them as for me the information sticks better.

I spent lots of training days with Carla and covered all types of standard beauty treatments; Nails, lash lift, massage, facials, eyelash extensions etc. Most of these days it was just Carla and myself in the room meaning 1-2-1 tutoring and a lovely relaxed environment.
